Non Self

Bianca Brzezinski
Non Self
A work about Anatta, the Buddhist term for 'not-self.'

Non Self examines our state of impermanence, inspired by mountains which symbolize eternity and stillness.

When looking at death as a transformation, we can begin to sense our lives as a form of consciousness that dwells within all beings-

a non-self that dies every second, that is present, that is nature itself embodied, consciously renewing itself.

EGO IS A FILTER
In Buddhist psychology, ego is seen as a kind of filter, a network through which energy is constantly being channeled and manipulated rather than being able to flow freely in unrestricted space. It is not a solid entity but a moment-to-moment process of birth, evolution, and death.

—Chögyam Trungpa, from The Sanity We Are Born With

“Only when we understand the true relationship between each other is there a possibility of love, and love is denied when we have images. Therefore it is important to understand, not intellectually but actually in your daily life, how you have built images about your wife, your husband, your neighbour, your child, your country, your leaders, your politicians, your gods - you have nothing but images.”
